Rachel, is experienced in serving clients in the areas of immigration and international trade law.
Rachel assists clients with corporate immigration under Canadian legislation and international trade agreements. She prepares work permit applications and immigration status documents for submission to consulates, ports of entry, and other immigration authorities. She is well versed in preparing immigration applications under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Canada-European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as well as other international trade agreements.
Rachel has provided advice to multinational corporations on all aspects of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, with full carriage of files from start to finish in a high-volume environment. She reviews corporate recruitment methods, wages, advertising requirements, and selection results to ensure compliance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations. Rachel also provides counsel to corporate clients with respect to the immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate changes, material changes in employment, and dismissals.
Rachel has served as immigration counsel for financial institutions, accounting firms, software and
technology businesses, engineering and construction corporations, and Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to joining Caravel Law, Rachel practiced immigration law at a Big Four Accounting firm, and a Bay Street immigration law firm. She also worked as an Advisor at large financial institutions.
Rachel is the Principal of Westbury Law, Professional Corporation which practices in association with Caravel Law.
