At Caravel Law, John works for clients on corporate, commercial, employment, and commercial real estate legal matters. John has extensive experience representing retail operations in negotiating with large national, regional, and independent landlords. John has in-depth experience in the drafting, preparation, review, and revision of real estate transactional documents, and has also engaged, managed, and coordinated outside professional resources including environmental engineers, surveyors, and property tax assessment consultants.
In various in-house roles, John has drafted and reviewed a broad spectrum of agreements, contracts, and instruments, including those in the areas of leasing, employment, patent, IT, supplier procurement, capital equipment sales, and general commercial law. John also has acted as the lead negotiator in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of corporate transactions.
John routinely advises business groups on a wide range of business issues, including business structure, risk management, procurement, and construction. He also has provided day-to-day advice on employment and labour matters including hiring, terminations, discipline, human rights, and privacy issues, as well as franchise and leasing matters.
