At Caravel Law, Ian works on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, share and asset sales, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, financial services agreements, and other contractual and business transactions.
Ian has drafted a broad spectrum of agreements, including shareholder agreements, management agreements, technology licensing agreements, distribution agreements, marketing agreements, and equipment leasing and financing agreements.
Ian worked with numerous clients on corporate/commercial matters including shareholder disputes and resolutions, business formations, corporate reorganizations, and general litigation management. In the course of his career, he has provided general employee advice to clients, including the implementation and review of option and other incentive plans. Ian also gained significant experience in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, public financings, equipment lease financings, debt financing, corporate secretarial functions, and corporate governance.
Ian has worked on significant matters involving high profile clients such as Mobilicity, Nortel Networks Limited, Teleglobe Incorporated, Quebecor World Incorporated, Air Canada, Grace Canada Incorporated and Loewen Group Incorporated. He was responsible for all aspects of the successful sale of MAC Cosmetics to Estée Lauder Inc.
