Marilyn is a senior corporate commercial lawyer with extensive experience in real estate law and environmental matters. Marilyn is certified as a specialist in Environmental Law by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
At Caravel Law, Marilyn’s practice focuses on real estate and environmental law. She has worked in all areas of commercial real estate, including acquisitions, divestures, leasing, co-ownership structuring, property development, and construction. She has extensive experience in complex real estate matters and has negotiated joint venture agreements, purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, and subdivision agreements.
Marilyn’s practice also includes advice on a broad range of environmental matters. She has acted in respect of contaminated lands, including significant brownfield sites. She has conducted due diligence examinations and negotiated environmental representations and warranties for purchasers, vendors, lenders, landlords, and tenants. She has acted on behalf of owners in connection with records of site conditions, risk assessments, phase I and II environmental site assessments, and remediation of facilities and properties. She also has advised on potential environmental liabilities, environmental management plans, compliance audits, and approvals for air and waste emissions. Marilyn has appeared before the Ontario Environmental Review Tribunal and the Divisional Court in respect of environmental matters.
