Judy is a corporate and commercial lawyer with experience in marketing, advertising, and Canadian media/entertainment law.
At Caravel Law, Judy works with a number of clients on commercial, media, advertising, and marketing legal matters, including drafting specialized content licences and broadcast licence agreements, partnership agreements, sponsorship agreements, employment agreements, brand promotion agreements, service agreements, privacy policies, and contest rules. Judy also regularly reviews advertising in all media (TV, radio, web, email, etc.) and customer retention programs.
Judy’s previous in-house experience at the Canadian Television Fund (CTF) included negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various types of production-related agreements, including financing agreements. Judy also has advised business analysts on issues related to budget reviews, financing, co-production treaties and tax credits, and provided interpretations of the CTF Guidelines and Business Policies for CTF staff and stakeholders.
Judy has expensive experience with general commercial and copyright law, and has negotiated and approved licensing agreements, including brand licences, audio licences, digital distribution licences, and rights clearances. Judy also has been involved in the negotiation and drafting of web linking, content integration, software licensing, service, and other technology agreements.
